the face (not face) of a girl who finally turned i the face (not face) of a girl who finally turned in her book. Four years ago, I realized I couldn't write something dapper without touching on colonialism, spiraling down a rabbit hole that would later become A TEMPEST OF TEA. She's off to copyedits at last, and I can barely believe it. Between those initial notes to yesterday morning, after staying up two nights in a row, it's been one wild ride. From publishing my first book, leaving an agent, signing with an incredible new one, finding the love of my life, getting married, and moving across the country—Arthie and her crew were with me through it all. A huge thank you to my editor @janine614 and agent @adamsliterary for their endless patience and for believing in me. And I truly couldn't have done it without @sincerelyasma and @heyazraa, who have read every iteration (trust me, there were many) of this story and stayed up countless nights to help hammer it out. Nor could I have done it without @cayskiii, who, in the near-year that we've been married, became a pro at living with an author on deadline—from reading chapters and brainstorming ideas to whipping up delicious lattes and keeping me sane. And you, dear reader: thank you for sticking it through with me. It's been a very long wait and we're still a good ways away, but we're nearly there.
